Stakeholder Approach

Timberland is committed to engaging stakeholders in dialogue and action to reduce our global footprint. Our stakeholders are diverse, and include groups or individuals who can affect—or are affected by—our company.

We don’t expect—or want—our stakeholders simply to nod their heads in agreement. We rely on direct and honest feedback that pushes us to improve our performance, set targets, prioritize resources and determine appropriate communication vehicles.

We believe the best way to generate the kind of feedback that improves our CSR programs is to communicate our impacts in comparable, consistent and credible ways. By actively generating outcome-oriented dialogue with stakeholders, we are convinced that Timberland can ultimately compete more effectively in the future.
